Principal's Bio


Mrs. Cass is beginning her 20th year with Hamilton County Schools.  She has nine years experience in middle schools across the district as a teacher and curriculum coach, two years experience in middle school administration, and eight years experience in high school administration before being appointed the new Principal of East Ridge Middle School for the 2016-2017 school year.  She was a 2015 Graduate of the Principal Leadership Academy through the partnership of Hamilton County Schools, Public Education Foundation, UTC, and The Chattanooga Chamber. 

Mrs. Cass was raised in the East Ridge Community where she attend Anna B. Lacey Elementary, East Ridge Middle, and East Ridge High School graduating in the Pioneer Class of 1989.  During her years at the middle and high school, she ran track and was a cheerleader. 

Upon graduation from high school, she enrolled in Chattanooga State Community College where she received an Associates Degree.  She then transferred to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education K-8.  After beginning her teaching career at Ooltewah Middle School, she decided to return to school and pursue a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum K-12 from Tusculum College in Greenville, TN.   Upon making the decision to pursue an administrative position with the district, she enrolled in Tennessee Technological University and obtained an Educational Specialist Degree in Leadership and Administration.  

Mrs. Cass is very excited about returning to her roots to help the teachers and students of East Ridge Middle continue their tradition of excellence in teaching and learning.
