Experience

My teaching career began in Dade County where I taught Physical Science, Physical Education, and Health.  The following year I transfered to Whitfield County and taught Language Arts, Reading, and Physical Education.  After four years in Whitfield County, I moved to East Ridge Middle School where I have taught the last 32 years.  At East Ridge Middle School I have taught a variety of subjects including History, Physical Education, Language Arts, Reading, and Health.

I attended the University of Tennesee on an athletic scholarship and played volleyball and basketball. It was a natural extension of my skills to enter coaching.  I coached volleyball at Covenant College while teaching in Dade County.  My team won their league and I was named Coach of the Year.  I coached girls basketball in Whitfield County and my team won a County Championship.  I have coached volleyball and basketball at East Ridge Middle School during my tenure here.  I also coached volleyball with Catherine Neely at East Ridge High School for 24 years where we won two state championships and had multiple state tournament appearences.  Over the past few years I have added Cross Country and Track to my responsibilities.

Bio

My husband and I celebrated 32 years of marriage this past June.  We have five children, four daughters and one son.  Two of them have blessed us with six grandchildren.  We love dogs and have always had multiple pets in our home.  Currently we have three dogs who think they are our children.

My hobbies include working out, reading, and playing Senior Olympic Volleyball with the Loco Chicks.  The Loco Chicks travel to competitions including Senior Olympic games in Texas, Ohio, and Minnesota.  Our best finish was fourth place in Cleveland, Ohio.  The competetions are great, but the people and friends I make along the way are even better.

I enjoy relaxing and spending time with my family and friends.  My family has taught me how to prepare meals for large crowds because when we all get together there are usually 20 to 25 people present.  If you have any recipes you would like to pass along, I welcome them.
