HCS at Home

nsert Info Here
For the 2020-21 school year, Hamilton County Schools is excited to announce a fully virtual learning environment.  The remote learning option features courses in mathematics, science, language arts, social studies, as well as related arts and electives.  All Hamilton County students will remain enrolled in their home school. While students must commit to at least one semester of a full remote course load, students will have the option to participate in clubs and organizations at their zoned school.

ERMS HCS Parents -

Laura Hamilton, our HCS Administrator sends out a weekly HCS Newsletter on Sunday.  Please ensure you are reading the entire newsletter weekly for the most up to date, current information for our HCS at Home Program.

Zoom Attendance

(Even if you complete the daily attendance form this is still an expectation)

Reminder, teachers will be recording attendance as well as giving a grade for their scheduled live Zoom meetings.  Students who join later than 5 minutes after the start of the Zoom session  may be marked tardy or absent depending on how much of the lesson is missed. This is the time teachers will be presenting new content or clarifying difficult concepts and students really need to be there and to participate. Please refer to the Zoom Etiquette graphic below for behavior expectations.

District policy concerning remote absences caused by technical difficulties:

Students experiencing technology issues (internet, device issues, etc) are to immediately notify the school (within two hours of required sign in time) to enable issues to be resolved quickly - school will work collaboratively to enable completion of alternative assignments and / or  to maintain attendance status

HCDE Provided Meal Pickup

Meal pick up will occur from 9:00-10:00 am every Wednesday.  You will enter the campus from the High School side by the tennis courts, go around past the football field and the high school parking lot to the back of our campus.  The cafeteria staff will have a station set up behind the Middle School cafeteria for you to pick up your prepackaged meals.  Stay in your car and they will bring everything out to you

Parent Observer Canvas Accounts!!!

There is a way for a parent to create a canvas account that allows them to observe their students Canvas accounts. Parents will be able to view announcements, assignments, course calendars, grades, and the syllabus.  Parents will NOT be able to submit assignments or quizzes, view course rosters, chat, or message anyone that is not the teacher or their student.
