East Ridge Middle School – 2025–2026 Start & Dismissal Update
Get ready for a smooth and successful school year at East Ridge Middle School!
To better align with East Ridge High School and support district-wide bus scheduling, our new daily schedule will run from 7:15 AM to 2:15 PM, Monday through Friday.
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
Doors will open at 6:45 AM, and breakfast will be served from 6:45 AM to 7:05 AM.
Student entry begins at 7:10 AM by grade level:
  • 8th Grade will enter through the first side door
  • 6th Grade will enter through the middle side door
  • 7th Grade will enter through the last side door
After 7:10 AM, all students must enter through the front office.
Morning car rider drop-off takes place in the front loop from 6:45 to 7:10 AM.
For afternoon pick-up, car riders must be picked up using the street lane only, as the front loop will be reserved for bus loading and dismissal, which begins at 2:15 PM. All buses will depart by 2:22 PM.
Students may be checked out early between 7:15 AM and 1:45 PM with proper identification. No early check-outs are permitted between 1:45 PM and 2:15 PM.
For weather-related schedule changes or half-day information, Hamilton County Schools will issue official notifications. You may also refer to the HCS Calendar for planned half-day dates.

Transportation

For any safety or driving concerns regarding First Student buses (buses numbered 200 and above), please contact 423-498-5555 or visit www.firstfeedback.com

Buses are expected to arrive within 10 minutes of their scheduled time. Please have students at their stops and ready to board the bus 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time. The bus schedule can not allow more time to wait for tardy students or for students to exit personal vehicles. For more information, please see the rules of conduct in the Transportation Policy Manual

Hamilton County Schools transports more than 20,000 students to and from school each day. There are 251 daily bus routes covering 23,000 miles each day and 4.0 million miles annually. Our mission is to provide safe and efficient transportation to and from school daily.
